Overall it was a great experience 💫👍🏼
The public library in Eindhoven is a fantastic place for book enthusiasts of all ages. It offers a spacious and well-organized environment with separate sections for both kids and adults. The library boasts a diverse collection of books in multiple languages, ensuring that everyone can find something of interest.
For families, the children's section is particularly delightful, with a variety of books and interactive activities to engage young readers. The availability of computers and iPads for kids adds an educational element to their visit, allowing them to explore and learn in a fun way.
The library staff is friendly, approachable, and always ready to assist visitors with any inquiries they may have. Whether you need help finding a specific book or recommendations for new reads, the staff members are knowledgeable and eager to assist.
Within the library, there is a café where visitors can take a break and enjoy a beverage. While the prices may be slightly higher than average, the convenience of having a café on-site is a nice addition for those who want to relax and have a refreshment during their library visit.
Overall, the public library in Eindhoven provides a welcoming environment with ample resources for both children and adults. It's a great place to explore literature, expand your knowledge, and enjoy some quiet reading time. The library's dedication to offering books in various languages and providing interactive spaces for children is commendable. Reading my book was difficult here on Saturday afternoon.
There isn't a noiseless , comfy spot for reading, really, and after going round once, I reckoned the three armchairs close to the reception were in the most quiet section of the library. Five people per minute would pass by and some would speak to the librarian almost the entire hour I sat. So not really noiseless, just more comfortable. I wish there were more of those chairs: the other small couches and seats have no armrest and they are not inviting. There is a cafe' that is very much open to the library and seems to host 50% children. It is loud, very. No one seems to follow an etiquette to my eyes, that is people speak loud, might carry red trolleys in, behave a bit as if they were in a mall. The only quiet ones are the single people like me who are trying to read after positioning themselves as far as possible from other people.
Lovely library. Clean and bright. Great for escaping the rain. Enjoyed an oat milk cappuccino and a vegan crumb bar as I read my book.
very good place from so many aspects but I'm sorry that the vegan superblock is no longer in the cafe section...
Lovely place to spend the whole day! Has a nice cafe as well!
Good location, nice staff, strong wifi, modern building.
However the library closes early at 5pm. No possibility to study until late. No designated quiet places / work places. There is a very noisy café and children's corner often with crying babies. Overall just not ideal for working/studying which, in my opinion, is what a library should be.
Relaxed atmosphere, free wifi and open until 18:30, Fridays even until 9pm. Also in walking distance from the central station. For working with your own laptop it is great. I am yet to try the coffee and snacks though.
It costs 0.50EUR to use the toilet, and the kids corner can be be quite noisy at times.
